NO!!!!!!

I'm doing everything I can to make it down there, and now Kevy won't be there - this is just adding to the rumors that we can't be in the same place at the same time.

Fifty (everyone screams *ONE*) years ago...

hahah i can't wait! :)

come to the drinkup if you are around sunday :) it's my event... hehe
6pm Cove
8pm Hearthstone
11pm Lost

we'll be going to see the fireworks after the hearthstone meet, most likely watching from the small world mall...

see you all at the parks!

NirvanaMan 07-13-2006 05:50 PM

Might be there Sunday. Work calls and traffic sucks on Monday.

DisneyDaniel 07-15-2006 09:01 AM

There's been no mention of a specific place/time for a LoT gathering for Monday, July 17, 2006 on this thread yet, but I'm guessing many of us might be near the Hub at noon. It appears that at least a couple other Internet/Disney boards are meeting there at that time. That's going to be one crowded Hub at noon!

innerSpaceman 07-16-2006 12:29 AM

Yeah, but use the switchboard if you arrive at the Park earlier. Our Second 50th Attraction Quest of Second Year Attractions may have already started by noon, and you don't want to miss any of the filler Walt installed before really kicking into gear in the late fifties.

Oh, and all are welcome to stop by the Zapp and iSm hotel suite. We only splurge on the Disneyland Hotel for the big number anniversaries, so this year we're back on Harbor - at the newly renamed Camelot (formerly the Park Inn International ... too constantly confused with the Park View and the Park Inn ... it took them long enough to change the name, d'uh). It's the last hotel before McDonald's.

We'll be holding forth Sunday evening, though a few or most of us will likely head for the resort at 8 or 8thirtyish to SuPeR K!'s drink-up at the Hearthstone/Grand Cal, and then we're going to watch fireworks from it's a small world.

But we're headed back to the suite after that for a grand night-before-Disneyland-Birthday tradition .... staying up way too late partying the night before Disneyland Birthday! We've been doing that for a quarter century, and I see no reason to stop now.

There's also the good chance that Monday's Grand Cal Lounging may be diverted to the LoT Suite on Harbor.

Hope to see you all for at least part of the festivities. If you work Monday, come before or after. If you absolutely can't do Monday, you have no excuse to miss the pre-festivities on Sunday.

It's Disneyland's Second 50th, people. There will never be another recycled birthday like it!

Not Afraid 07-16-2006 12:56 AM

We'll be there tomorrow in the evening and on Monday sometime just after noon (I have a Gund to walk).

Motorboat Cruiser 07-16-2006 02:21 AM

Turns out, we both work on Sunday and Monday.

Have fun, everyone. :)

:D just returned from the Park for a preview of the "Happiest Balloon On Earth".

making it's only Disneyland appearance, Cast Members were invited to see it in the Castle Forecourt, prior to Park opening.

don't miss your chance to see this amazing hot air balloon, (think Ear Force One), in the shape of Mickey Mouse, with Golden Ears, tomorrow morning, (July 17th) from 4:00 am - 7:00am.

to help celebrate the 51st Anniversary of Disneyland, the "Happiest Balloon On Earth" will be available for public viewing, in the Esplanade from 4:00am - 7:00am. Live media broadcasts will cover the event, including a presentation by Disneyland President Matt Ouimet at approximately 6:30am.

Hehehe... what a perfect description! I love it! I can imagine ads and giant billboards reading: "Come to Disneyland for the Second 50th"! ;)

Thanks for the invite to all, iSm and zapppop.

4 a.m.? Wow! That's early, so I'm wondering how many Disney fans will be waiting in the esplanade that early--or even earlier--on the morning of the 51st to enter Disneyland? Thanks for the great info, MickeyLumbo. I plan to be an early bird to see it--and will attempt to take some pics for all to see.

innerSpaceman 07-16-2006 08:30 AM

Well, it will likely be large enough to see from my hotel balcony, and that's as close as I'm getting before 7am.

What a difference a year makes, when 50,000 people were in the Esplanade before dawn 364 days ago!

MBC - - bah! Oh, and I have something for you ... that I missed giving you last time when you left unexpectedly while you were the only LoT stoner not getting chronically high in the parking lot. WTF?

Anyway, work Sunday is one thing, but can't you two stop by the suite party on Sunday night???? If not, we must make other arrangements to get you your (disneyland) birthday gift.
