The icky-light CFs are NASTY! The sad thing is that, I don't want to replace them until they burn out so we've ben letting them go. I'm used to the front porch icky light, but there's one in the house that i just cannot bear to have on. I suppose that's one way to save energy. ;)

As far as being "greener" goes, I think we need a compost pile. All of out cat litter is now compostable material.

Yeah, we should have been suspicious of the 4-for-$9 deal. God was that terrible light. We replaced the four 45 watt incandescents in the kitchen with four "60 watt replacement" fluorescents, and the light was just...sickly. Dimmer and of that horrible fluorescent quality. Bleh.
