Eric said the Blackberry 8830 Global Phone is extremely cool. His eyes sort of glazed over when he was telling me about it, in fact. I started getting the same feeling I'm sure €uro gets when NA sees a cute kitty in need of a home.

Uh - I have the same phone and service, you can do custom ring tones by adding the appropriate mp3 files.

Oh, and anyone else realize that is probably AT&T's biggest PR screw up EVER? The biggest gadget of all time and embedded in every write-up is "AT&T makes the iPhone suck."

I am not so sure it doesn't suck anyway. What have they done to address the skin-oil problem? I have not seen that mentioned in any of the write-ups (though, admittedly, I've only read a few).

A completely screen-based interface will fail if they haven't solved the problem of human skin oils.



Also ... why do ALL cell phones put the screen where your ear goes instead of where your mouth goes? Sure, it might seem "upside down" - but you wouldn't have to clean your screen after every call.




As for the iPhone itself - - - yawn!
But the interface has promise for other devices.
