Great show! For me, it was like reliving that incredible day. It was fun to hear friendly reporters who were there with us all. I like ytour use of the soundbites throughout the day. What fun that was!!!!! Thanks, MousePod!

You know, you don't need an iPod to listen. You can just download the file and play it on your computer.

Sadly, I can't download at work and I'm currently sans computer at home. Mine is on the fritzy fritz.

But I'm sure Heidi will share her downloads with me.

Thanks, GD.

mousepod: Congratulations on piecing together all the events and messages from 05-05-05 into a very comprehendible and fun podcast. Also, great job to all the on-the-scene callers! :snap:

Disneyland is OUR land! :D

New show is up. Mostly just me rambling (so what else is new?).

Hope you dig it.

Listening to everyone's reports was fantastic. Great editing there, Jesse. The whole idea of having people leave messages was brilliant.

Everyone must download this and have a listen - it's quick a kick!

this was so much fun to re-live through everyone's own perspective. so sorry that i didn't call in with my own report. (i think i cheated...first,i stayed the night at the hotel and didn't need to hastle with parking...also, i avoided the bag check and main gate lines by hopping on the monorail...and my trek into the hub via tomorrowland was unimpeded by flashing the "right" creditials.)

soon, met up with gus gus and kevy baby and minutes later the rest of the gang...we re-grouped on the steps of Disney Gallery and waited for the opening...

oh, and didn't arrive hungry or wait in dreadfully long morning food lines as i took advantage of wonderful room service breakfast!

jessie, please accept my apologies for not reporting in.

you did an awesome job on the podcast!:snap:

Mickeylumbo,

No apologies necessary. You are my MousePod hero. My first interview. A brilliant storyteller. A helluva guy. You know that I'm going to get you back on mic in July...

I just read this blog, which has a great review of the 05/05/05 MousePod. Thought I'd share it with you since you were the ones who made it so special. Thanks again!

Here are some excerpts:
Quote:

I heard a really awesome podcast the other day, one that really shows what can be done with grassroots media and citizen’s reporting. And it was actually an episode of the MousePod, which I’ve been following ever since it started four months ago...

...the MousePod is the number one unofficial Disney podcast, so of course you knew Jesse would try to do some kind of special coverage of the event on the 5th. But Jesse was stuck in San Francisco with laryngitis, so there was no way for him to get to Anaheim to cover the festivities. Instead, the stroke of genius that he had was to recruit his listeners to become a band of roving reporters, and he set up a voice mail box for them to call in with updates on what was happening at the park. This turned out to be a great idea, and the result is one of the best podcasts I’ve heard yet...

...by listening to the MousePod you get the feel of what it was really like for the thousands and thousands of ordinary people that were in the park that day...

...This is what the future of reporting looks like.
