If that turns out to be the case, then I'll just dump the camera and the pass and forget it (I'm not relying on the pass as entrance, just permission to bring my camera). But considering the nature of the event, I don't imagine it will be like that, exactly.

Word is the Fingerprints in Long Beach (along w/Glass House in Pomona) will be selling 3-day tickets sans ticketmaster fees ($285 total) starting Friday 10AM

innerSpaceman 01-23-2008 07:18 PM

Ack, ack, i just dunno. i wanna go. but sometimes i feel 'no.'

CoasterMatt 01-23-2008 08:08 PM

Hey GD - PM me about press credentials and camera use at concerts :)

3 day [resale went on sale today at 10:00 Ticketmaster. Go to Ticketmaster.com, search for Coachella, enter password: Desert.

Ghoulish Delight 01-24-2008 11:28 AM

Actually, once Ticketmaster is done with its raping, the price is the same as the Fingerprints price ($285). And if you want to print your own tickets instead of having them mailed, it'll be a couple bucks more.

But it's still $20 off full price + TicketRaper and you don't have to be in Long Beach or Pomona.

Ugh.

Jealous. I can't make plans for sh*t until I have a job lined up somewhere.

What I would try and see if I could go:

Raconteurs
The Breeders
Tegan and Sara
Madness
Aesop Rock
dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip (only because their names are so cool)
John Butler Trio
Cut Copy
Rogue Wave

SATURDAY, APRIL 26:
Portishead
Kraftwerk
Death Cab for Cutie (like them, but this show will probably be very full)
Rilo Kiley
Dwight Yoakam
M.I.A.
Cold War Kids
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks
Flogging Molly
Mark Ronson

SUNDAY, APRIL 27:
Roger Waters (“Dark Side of the Moon”)
Love & Rockets
My Morning Jacket
Justice
Gogol Bordello
Chromeo
The Streets
Metric
Simian Mobile Disco
Murs
Dmitri from Paris
The Field

Haw haw, CP and I came to the same conclusion. Though we went to MySpace and we also happen to enjoy their music (what is it about a British dude doing spoken word over electronica that's almost universally awesome?!)

innerSpaceman 01-24-2008 03:11 PM

eh, and .... nope, not going. can't afford. sigh.

One of these years it'll happen when I don't have travel plans the following weekend.
