GC~ :D
Geesh, I wish I could remember how I did it. As far as the family goes, there are still members who don't know my last name. I still receive xmas cards to the 'Romeros'................. So true about the calls, Lisa. You just know it is a sales call if they don't address you properly. I have to keep from laughing. Oh, and Nephy, Congratulations!! I haven't been around much and I can tell by this thread and your avatar that you've gotten married!! |
I want to change mine back. Maddy thinks then we won't "be a family" anymore. But she calls my Maiden name my "real" name and my current last name my "fake" name.
Besides - McQueen is a way cooler name than what I've got now anyway. |
I kept my maiden name for years, then finally did the hyphenated version of both of our names. Takes forever to write my signature. I just filed the marriage cert with SS, then took my new ss card to the DMV and got a new license.

I can weed out junk mail because some lists have me listed as "Mr. Kerry R".

Years ago, I once got a call from someone who asked for "the lady of the house". I replied, "speaking". He hung up. :D

Taking his last name was a no-brainer for me. I love my parents but a 9-4-11 letter name is a doozy. I always wanted a shorter name- now I have it- it's cute too.
Went to the SS office yesterday- could have mailed it in but I did not want to send original documents away for that long. So the big changes are done- now on to the rest. |
My maiden name is lengthy, but I love it. My married name was Nelson. *shrug* I was in the middle of the alphabet and everyone knew how to say it. What fun is that?
Would I hyphenate it if I were to wed again? Most likely not... but the thought of taking up 2 lines of my huge name on my driver's license is very tempting! ;) |
