It is absolutely undeserved. He isn't in the closet any more.

(But for the record, "gayest straight man" is not calling him a closet homo. He's straight, and we all know it ... but with admirably gay tendencies. Playing soccer is not one of them, but his unusually good taste for a straight dude is. The proper term for Mr. Delight is Metrosexual, I suppose. "Gayest Straight Man" has more panache, but a deal's a deal.)
