I've heard good things about this series from many people and I intend to start on the first book this week :)

Damn you people! I think I am going to have to read it.

In Jacob's Book. The WWs are bickering. Tedious WWs.

The amusing aside is that we bought our copy at Shakespeare & Co. in Paris. That makes it literature. And as we were leaving, we ran into people who were looking for New Moon.

I finished... and I have mixed feelings.

Spoiler:
What's up with Rosemary's Baby *cough* Reneesme? (BTW... I hate the baby's name). What's up with this fairy tale ending? Bleh... I made faces at the book when I finished it.

I do admit, there are some sections where I was bowled over happy. One of them was Bella's changing, another was Jacob's imprinting with the baby, the last one was Bella's wedding. Other than that... I wasn't overly thrilled with much.

This, though... is because I didn't pour through the other 3 books again before starting this one. I'll try it one more time after reading the other books and come back to this thread.

Spoiler:
Yeah - I wasn't taken by the name either. From what I hear that's a common sentiment. I loved that Bella was so at home with being a vampire. She took right to it and that thrilled me. I also wish that it wasn't targeting to the tweens so much as I would have loved to have some detail about the sex written in... then again I don't care for the bodice ripper style so maybe not now that I think about it. (it always seems rather hoaky and laughable in those books instead of with the hot tension that was created with Bella and Edward.

It seems so obvious now that of course Jacob would imprint on her daughter.

And yeah - I know it's a fairy tail ending - but why not? Why can't everything turn out nicely and have a happy ending?

I'm trying to decide if I should read them all again or just the last one.

Spoiler:
The last showdown with the Volturi was pretty anti-climactic. "Oh... there's ANOTHER half human/vampire thing who's running around? Okay. We've made a mistake. Let's go." I expected more than just the standoff with Bella's silver shield of protection.
