Good neighborwise, Gen (short for Genevieve) takes the prize. Besides being a friendly and kind person, Gen's cookie jar is always full and her coffee grinder plugged in and ready for action.

I like my neighbors. My backyard fence is bi-sected by 2 houses in a cul-de-sac behind me. 1/2 is a very nice family. They have parties, but the parties are always over, or the music is off, at a decent hour. When a board came loose the man back there was trying to hammer it back, so I went to help. He saw Pooh and said that he didn't even know there was a dog back there.
The other 1/2 raises some sort of bulldog, I think English. Those dogs are barkers and fight quite often. As long as I know it isn't Pooh it doesn't bother me. One side is an awesome couple, they are truly great people and I count myself lucky to have them as neoghbors. The other side is a 1/2 way home with 5 girls who are "mentally-delayed." They are very quiet. My only issue is the workers. They slam a door on the side of their house, it makes my windows rattle. When the girls are picked up for work, the van drivers have blaring music. I have also asked them to stop parking in front of my house. They block my driveway and walk all over my front yard. My problems seem petty compared to everyone else. |
I'll vouch for mousepod's neighbors - seemed like very cool people. I was jealous.

See, you wouldn't have all these problems in the LoT Commune......

I'd have dumped the chamberpot on their heads. Oh. Wait. Wrong year. I love the digital camera/posting some sort of poster about..... Would the police have came if they'd been called? Either way, it's a darn fvcking way to wake up. My neighbors...used to have more problems with them before, before I just realized they aren't going to change and I'm not going to move so I just like to pretend they don't exist. |
We had a drug dealer neighbor (I'm sure she was). People in/out 24/7. I called the police three seperate times when she was fighting with her decades younger beau. Managment did what they could but I was the only neighbor who would sign anything against her. The rest all compalined but wouldn't sign anything. It's pratically impossible to evict anyone. I also called DEA who said they knew about the situation but again I was the only one who would leave their name or contact information.
And get this - my other neighbor - literally a Mrs. Kravitz, had logs of when people where in and out, descriptions, license plate numbers etc etc. But she wouldn't use her name or give this info to the police. It was so frustrating. Her lease wasn't renewed so she moved out. Now we've got great neighbors. The one next door tends to blast his christian rock occasionally but it's always during the day (I'm usually not home anyway) and it's not for prolonged periods. When I was in high school our neighbor was a prostitute/drug dealer. Her dad was the sheriff. After about a year she was asked to leave town, or so I heard. |
A few years ago, when I was living in an apartment in Fullerton, I had neighbors next to me that would have loud arguments late at night. It happened 2 to 3 times a month, at least. They would start screaming at each other in their bedroom (which of course shared a wall with my bedroom) at around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. It would go on for about a half an hour, then there would be a few minutes of silence, then I would hear the vacuum cleaner start up.
Every single time they fought, there would be vacuuming afterwards. I never did figure that one out..... |
