I agree with Strangler Lewis. Rocky Horror is just fine as its own delightful, campy self, and the audience experience (though i used to participate regularly) can be highly irritating, relentlessly exclusionary, and deafening. I watch RHPS on my own, on video, not infrequently, and I even have a soft spot for (moments of) its pseudo-sequel SHOCK TREATMENT.

All of the above.
(Well, maybe not offended. And who knows? Maybe you're hunkier than you seem. When can I see you with your shirt off??) |

Spoiler:
we came back years later to find not just a whole new crowd, but one that looked at us like we were idiots - outsiders - and didn't feel welcome at all. The last experience with it just left me so disappointed. Side note - my good friend was pushed from the stage one night, cutting the back of her leg on something and leading to her being taken by ambulance to Hoag... stopping the movie for quite a while in the process. Out of the blue, they got bouncers and just started pushing people during the time warp. All the while she wasn't even supposed to be there - what a fun time when her Dad met up with us all at the hospital. |

Rocky plays every week literally one block from where I live. However, I am not a part of that cast. Instead, I drive 25 minutes down to San Pedro to be in a better cast, in a better theater, with better audiences. |
