I miss the meets too.

There's no law saying we can't set up a generally-acceptable monthly meet or something. Say, the first Sunday of the month at Carnation Plaza?

Excellent idea Goonie!

You know, I can't say I miss the meets. I miss seeing as many people as we used to see, but I do not miss being in a large group at Disneyland. It lost its luster for me and I've had my fill of it for a LONG time. Unfortunately, as iSm points out, there just isn't anything that can really fill that void with something I'm not burned out on while offering the opportunity to be with the group.

So I'm hearing.

Oh well, I'm coming in December anyway. A meet would be nice, but I won't expect it. Maybe I'll try to hook up with a few of you off property.

Out of town visitors are usually a good way to motivate a decent group of folks.

Pfft... who wants to hang with decent folks?

I'm coming out to see you guys

 <-- Sidecar for you

Oh Sam, are you coming out for my birthday? How sweet of you! Don't worry - you don't need to bring anything big. Jewelry is fine and should fit in your carry-on.

:p

As much as I like Disney, I like art and music more - so I continue to post about such things and even put a few on the calendar. They rarely turn into large meets, but I think they are just as fun. We've done camping trips, museum visits, concerts, El Cap screenings, game nights, etc. I suppose Disney is the common denominator among most of us, but there are so many cool things going on in the area.

Then again, for me it's always been more about the people than the park, which is why this place exists, so we can continue to connect and interact, even if we can't be at the hub at noon every Sunday.

After visiting Magic Mt we're tending to head back to our home park. I for one am Disney'd out locally speaking. With the huge crowds lately and the birthday Celebration and 2fer offerings. Nothing new at Disneyland and the way that park looks and feels compared to Magic Mt. It's getting longer between visits. Between vacation in June and other interests that we splurdge in not really missing Disneyland all that much.

One can get a season pass for Magic Mt, Universal Studios and Knott's Berry Farm all for the low price way below the Premium Season Pass that Disneyland offers.

Our passes expire in August so if we renew we are doing the monthly payments rather than putting down the whole entire lump sum which we do not have nor will have when the renewing time comes. I don't see us eliminating Disney completely either since we always have a good time there. Plus next year i'm probablly going to have out of towners visit so definitely need a pass.

I do and don't miss the meets. I used to be able to have Sundays free and the meets were no problem. Then working on Sundays for a long while. Now that i do not work on Sundays it's great to have Sunday's off (now the car needs to be saved a bit from driving so far). Let's not start about food on property either.
