Much smaller than the photo makes it look, stretched out it's less than my wrist to elbow.

One of the "public" people I follow on Twitter is John Moe (@johnmoe) who works in Public Radio out of St. Paul, MN. (He's funny, creative, follow him.) He just retweeted a message about a tornado in the St. Paul area that was from my childhood best friend's son. I don't know the son but I confirmed it was him because I find the same profile photo among the friends on her Facebook page. I'm taking this as a very direct reminder that I owe her a note.

Lindy- that's kind of a cool connection! :) I guess the destruction is fairly impressive this time around.

So we got to see the Solvang stage of the Tour of California bike race. I had to work yesterday and today and I'm feeling very overwhelmed by the last week. Working, and socializing and lunches and work and the Tour and it just keeps going. I'm so glad I have tomorrow off, before we get back to the next round of shows.

That's cool!

I guess this must be the same storm that grounded then canceled Chris' flight before it could take off from LAX to Chicago. Interestingly, Kevin left JWA 2 hours earlier for Chicago, made it, had an hour layover and got out of O'Hare for Des Moines just in time (apparently amidst a lightening storm - but he needs to tell that story).

Eh... not much of a story to tell. We pushed out of the gate on schedule, but then they made us (and every other plane due to take off) sit on the tarmac for about 45 minutes while we watched a very prolific lightening storm and heavy rain.

Yeah, ramp crew are not allowed on the ramp (eg: outside) when lightning is within a certain distance of the airport.

We were already on the plane and ready to go: according to the pilot, they were rerouting all of the outgoing flights around the storm
