Yeah, put (it) up or shut up. :D

I have toyed with the idea, but I know it would not have fit in any of the sites we had last year - not even one of the rounds. I don't know how big the sites are at KC, but I don't want to chance it.

We did pick the Ozark one up at Wal-Mart. Thanks! I think it is pretty cool and actually, probably a very good thing to have in case of an emergency.

We also saw those fleece like sleeping bags, but, couldn't figure if they could be joined so we are just bringing our bedding.

Wonderful finds at REI!! I think I am going to hold off on a tent until I am sure I really want to 'camp'. I'll also know better if I can handle leaving my son as I've never left him for two nights and never quite a distance. We usually just go up to L.A. or the mountains for a night.

There are some issues going on so now I am concerned about overdoing the fun stuff Hubster and I have planned.

But I refuse to give up....it sounds like too much fun to not try to go.

Well, we attempted to do a test-pitch of our new tent in our living room. It quickly became apparent that a 9'x9' tent in a 16'x16' room with furniture is not an option. We started to move out front, but clouds were looking ominous so we aborted the whole operation.

At least we got practice packing it back up.

Capt Jack 05-05-2008 11:49 AM

the packing it back up is the hard part anyway.

You learned a lot then: that often is a challenge.

Gas prices being what they are, I'm starting to wish we'd picked something closer to home. But hey, at least we know the scenery will be fabulous :)

Capt Jack 05-05-2008 12:07 PM

Ive been factoring that in best I can as far as the funds needed for the trip. yeah, its gonna be pricey, but much like last year its well worth it.

Morrigoon 05-05-2008 12:09 PM

Oh, totally. And I seriously need the vacation, too.

Capt Jack 05-05-2008 12:12 PM
