So... I just choked.

I was eating a sliced heirloom tomato with cottage cheese, and I was biting one of the tomato wedges and accidentally bit through the front 10% while the back 90% slipped down my throat and got lodged.

My throat kept spasming so I thought it was going down, but it turns out it wasn't, so I ran into the kitchen where Tom was finishing the asparagus, and I gave him the international "tomato lodged in my throat" symbol. He promptly administered the Heimlich Maneuver (god bless Heimlich-- god bless Tom!) and sent the tomato flying out.

It was very, very surreal. I always thought choking would hurt, but mostly it was slightly confusing and uncomfortable. But damn, that Heimlich works!

I've choked a few times and it's very scary. I'm so glad you realised early enough that it wasn't going to move- many people just panic and try to deal with it until it's too late to find someone to help them. Kudos to your man!:snap:

Hee hee. No, it only got spit as far as my hand-- so I don't know if it would've gotten much air.

I will say this: it was only about three minutes before I said to Tom, "do you mind if I go call mom... and post at LoT?" He said he knew I was going to say that.

Glad your ok H. I knew I hated tomatos for some good reason!! :)


On another note, Looks like a new job for the big B. Good $$ and I start on Monday~! Whoo hooo! I think I'll treat myself to some Ice Cream and the Little Mermaid tomorrow night. (the movie that is!) ;)
