Ok, Kelvin.. Wasn't he the one interrogating Sayid in Iraq?

scaeagles 05-25-2006 09:22 AM

He interrogated Sayid in Iraq when Sayid was captured. His name is (was) Kelvin Inman. He isn't Kate's dad, but Kate's dad also had interaction with Sayid in the same flash back.

I also started to worry after last nights episode that there isn't a "master plan/map" for the show. I had read the EW article and was surprised that they seemed to say they were making it up as they went along and would keep that up as long as the ratings where there.

Wouldn't it be better to have the general plan of the show mapped out with a set timeframe - say 3 seasons, which seems to me to be about how long good shows can stay good. You plan it out - after season 3 it's done, resolved. Then if it's all that popular you can have spin-offs. Maybe another show about the original "incident" or a show set in the 70's with the original people participating in the experiment.

I wasn't a fan of Alias but a good friend was obsessed, until that show went all wacky for a couple seasons. Then they had to sort of basically act like those seasons never happened and go back to the original premise. That's what makes me a little worried as well since that was an Abrams project too.

I am going into the summer break with the "implanted memories" theory unsullied.

One other question....what was that bird thing? It looked like it was made out of plants. Another thing about the date of 9/22/2004....that was the date the pilot episode aired.

I see your train of thought with that, and would tend to agree, but the freezing arctic climate was more like Greenland, Iceland is actually a lot greener and more temperate. (Named contrasting to throw off invaders).
I really think that Penelope is trying to undermine her dad. (Persephone perhaps?)

Yup, they're sticking to their guns on the date. The first few episodes had references to the current day and they can't waver from that.

The behind-the-scenes stuff on the first season DVD was very straight-forward about "we wrote the whole arc already" and the 5-season plan. It was very reassuring and I recommend everyone rent that.

I'm glad you guys are either catching the connections or reading them elsewhere (like Kelvin), because I'm so bad with the names :)

Summer means time to catch up on DVD watching before LOST comes back on!
