I wish I could be there, I love that show. Do the actors stay out of the audience?

They do. We don't come forward of the proscenium until the very end. It's a great moment. Our Man in Chair is awesome.

Good for you, Pru!

Cricket - how awesome!

I have a "day off" from work today. That doesn't mean I don't have to work, it just means I don't go into the store.

Meanwhile, my awnings were installed today. They look great! Kimchi has not had a good day, however. She was VERY upset that there were strangers in her yard.

Funny stuff about the workplace emails about stolen food... My favorite was a note stuck on the fridge prior to last Christmas. Being so long ago, I don't remember the contents, but I'm sure I can ask the originator, as it was her Diet Coke that was stolen.

Do you love the news about a metal detector guy finding the biggest treasure trove of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver ever or what?
The best photos I can find so far are here.

Let's hop on a plane and go to the opening of the exhibit.

Chris told me about this last night before bed. We had to pull out the computer and look at pictures then get the big History of England tome out and put things in perspective. Chris fell asleep while I was reading out loud. It is fascinating stuff! To think these items have been buried in the ground for so long and no one uncovered them until now. I wonder how they go there? I so wish I knew their story!

Let's not forget what really matters in all this: fresh air, exercise and a diverting hobby.

The truly exciting find will be the scroll containing the policy issued by the Anglo-Saxon insurance company that paid off on this lost treasure and will now asserteth its divine right of subrogation.

Sure this one case is an amazing story and all, but let's keep it in perspective. Running around with a metal detector is still one of the nerdiest endeavors ever created by modern man.
