Sooo...
The new HVAC system is up and running. The old unit that once occupied a closet encroaching on the largest bathrom has been replaced with a new unit hanging from the roof peak in the attic. It's sooooo quiet! The whoosh of air blowing through the vents is louder than the noise from the unit. No more standing pilot light for the furnace, which means much less fuel waste. I have a programmable thermostat again - more savings. Next to go will be the water heater tank, to be replaced with a tankless unit in the attic. I need to go find that thread where this was discussed earlier.
I can't wait to redo the bathrooms with all the new available space. I'm kinda partial to this collection. Time to start the folder to keep all those ideas together.
Years ago (who am I kidding - DECADES!), I used to joke with friends that college had a way of "dollaring you to death". Home ownership has a way of "thousand dollaring you to death". (Can I get a witness, GD and CP??)
