Speaking of high budgets - we finally looked at prices on fabric today. We had already done plenty of looking and thinking for curtains in various rooms....but that's all out the window as we realized the designer fabrics we had been casually browsing cost around $65 a yard. Um, yeah. Our tastes are pricey these days...

Well, I know it's a bit of a drive for you guys, but there's a great "Off The Bolt" fabric store down the street from us - I got the fabric for our drapes there...

Soooo...
Matthew and I went to the park today. It was our first opportunity in about a month and the last time we visited, the park was practically a ghost town. We were not as fortunate today. The place was absolutely packed! I can only assume that it is because of Haunted Mansion Holiday being open. Still, the weather was mild and overcast, without being chilly, and it was nice to just walk around. We didn't ride anything and we didn't spend a dime. We just checked out the halloween decorations, which were much more prevelant this year, and also a new act in NOS, featuring a female vocalist who was quite good and a band comprised of quite a few members from the former Bayou Brass Band. We also checked out the new store in DTD, the vault 28 or whatever the hell it is called. Yawn. Not impressed. |
Important lesson for the day: Never use your windshield washer while driving with your sunroof open.

Hmmmm, should I spend the next 5 hours doing laundry, work and house cleaning or should I read the rest of "The End"?

Dude. Thinking I was in trouble for having to skip out on a meeting last Friday due to the countertop installation fiasco, I was just called into my VP's office. Instead, as a thank you for being part of a large effort over the last year that's turned out quite well for the company, he handed me a brand new 4GB iPod Nano.
Well, sort of. He handed most of them out to the people who made it to the meeting last week, but one of them was busted. So, since I've already got an iPod, I volunteered to be the one to wait for a replacement. But I've got an i.o.u for a 4GB iPod Nano. Anyone want a green 4GB iPod Mini with a real good quality sleeve? It's in great shape, tested by 2 swankers, and going cheap (I'm keeping the swanky tiki coasters that Snowflake included when she sold it to me, though ;) ). Hmm, guess I'd better dig through boxes and find all the cables. |

Nickolas and I just spent over an hour and a half at a pumpkin patch. One of my new co-workers works out there at night. She and her sister were running the big bounce house type slides. I spent 3 dollars on 4 tickets for the slides and came home with 12 tickets. Their brother was driving a tractor around and we ended up with 2 trips on it. We had so much fun! I just hope that they don't get into trouble with their boss for us being there so long. We did end up buying 2 large, over priced pumpkins. I don't care about the carving, I just want the seeds.
