Okay, I gotta thank everybody here who said that I needed to see "True Blood". I'm watching the first season on DVD and I love it.

Sounds like it was RCI's Monarch of the Seas. That ship is a total dive. Thankfully, they sent it back to Florida last year.

I saw a gentleman at Burger King today and minutes later saw him on a community access channel on TV. He was wearing the same hat and t-shirt. I thought that was pretty funny.

Carl Sagan was awesome in so many ways.

I just had Facebook suggest someone I haven't seen in years, who I don't have their contact info for as a friend. I'm thrilled that it knew, but it's a bit creepy.

I really want to understand the Facebook friend recommendation process.

I have a few theories:

It remembers who came up when you search by email (this I'm pretty sure since people in my contact list show up as recommendations after I log out)

It remembers who you searched for and recommends the searcher to the searchee.

It's really HAL

Anyone else have a better understanding or theories? It really is a bit creepy how it can suggest random people you know.

Friends of your friends, similar workplace/school/etc.

That's what I thought too... except we have no mutual friends and the school/work we shared is not on my FB. It's truly random.

My Facebook page recently suggested I might like to be friends with the single lady down the street, the one known for her messy affair with a married man. Mrs. Moonie was not amused.
