I've already been warned about the snarky character of Icelandic sheep but aren't they adowable?

I mean, we have the land and all ... Can't you picture my stiletto leopard print ankle boots sinking into the mud as I chase after the sheep?

It's been in various basements. We've had it in our basement for as long as we've lived in this house, which is since 1991. It's wood with iron and leather.

Sadly, one of Tom's sisters "antiqued" it about 40 years ago. Before that it was Swedish blue (surprise!). Now, it's turquoise. It's a total coincidence that it matches our fireplace. Really.

One of the things I did to get it up and running, I devised a belt around the wheel to the spindle. (Prepare to faint in the presence of my high tech genius.) The belt is made of butcher's twine, which turns out to be a really good choice.

Why yes, yes they are. I can see it getting along with dogs and family.

Man, this has been a rough week. For those who know what happened to me while I was in DL, just about the same thing happened again today. On the phone. Oy! Only this time, it turned out better, and we're still friends. So, thank goodness for that.

Actually, it won't be mud your stiletto leopard print ankle boots will be sinking into...

Cool spinner, though.

Awesome, Helen. Just don't prick your finger.

So hubby and I volunteered today, helping out with a mountain biking festival. Good for free admission, free parking, free lunch, and a free t-shirt. Used to include free beer, but I guess some idiot did something stupid and now the whole park area prohibits booze. This festival generally doesn't have much of a problem with drunks- they limit the beers to 2 per person, but they have to stay within the rules of the park.

Two of the women in our group won prizes in the raffle- both won bikes. Nice. I would have liked to do more bike riding, but we were assigned to a station along the Poker Run, and which was very close to the trailhead. I guess we could have gone along the route, and taken the long way back, but I don't know my way aroung.

I was reminded that women who bike look great. :)
