With apologies to my marvelous wife/mother of my child-in-utero, I can't resist relating this anecdote from the weekend.
I think it's fair to say that the relationship between me and CP defies most stereotypes. In particular, it's very rare for us to fall into the kind of dumb "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus," male vs. female stupidity. Not unheard of, but rare. This weekend was one of those rare occasions where CP said something that was straight out of a script for some awful Thursday night sitcom.
GD: Ugh, how frustrating. I'm going to spending my Sunday in the garage building shelves. We've got this little 13" TV that I could watch football on while I work, except for the fact that the government shut down analog broadcasts and we don't have a digital converter.
CP: Well, you wouldn't really want that anyway, right? I mean, the TV would just distract you.
