Hey, the Haute Dog Holw'oween Parade is this weekend if you want to see more of the same!

My daughter who is still in high school is at a tournament this weekend. This is the first Halloween in 21 years that we don't have any kids around.

Here's a nice thing: I hauled up the big plastic box of Halloween doodads from the basement to begin decorating. You know, stiff upper lip and the show must go on and all that. In the doodad box are some new surprise decorations, courtesy of the high school daughter. We've got new bats with jeweled eyes and new skeleton straws and some new candles.

What an awesome surprise!

Can we start this day over, please?

I'm worrying about my computer at home. Work has been hell today. And, coming back from lunch, I spotted a guy in the parking lot that I had a blind date with about 15 years ago! (Yes, I recognized him. The date was that bad; and then there's his missing arm...)

I'm just not in the mood for this much sureal.

Being the Celtic New Year, it really does seem that these last few days have brought the last bit of lingering crap that needs to pass before November 1st. Sunday will be here soon! *hugs*

Heard on a podcast by someone describing a crowd he was performing to which was full of very old people:

The median age of these people was deceased.

Sounds like our Symphony audience.

Today has been a great day for me!

First, I managed to trade tomorrow's shift to a day shift, leaving me free for Halloween festivities (even if it means working in the box at 8:30am).

Then, I headed out to get a mask, and every single place I went, I scored rock star parking. I'm so not kidding about this, at least 4 times! Found my mask, and a headpiece instead of the more expensive hat I was thinking about getting, thus saving me $$$.

Now I'm enjoying a pumpkin Frappuccino while waiting for my honey to come home so we can head off to Halloween karaoke at Azteca. Oh, also figured out a very easy costume for tonight that will be comfortable yet still costumey (hint: from last New Year's Eve). That is, if I don't change my mind at the last minute and go as Liza Minelli. I think I'd need a short wig to pull that one off though. Otherwise I'd just look like a woman that dresses twice her age.

Sometimes it's the little things that can make or break a day. Getting my shift changed was a big good thing, but everything else was small stuff that added up to a very happy me. It's amazing how much good parking can influence your mood...

I have such a mountain of crap here to clean off. So far, I've managed to clean off a chair so that Ryan can also sit in the living room.

Meanwhile, in the past month I've dreamed about cats at least a dozen times. These are dreams where the cats are a major, if not the major, feature. I do not understand this.
