For what it's worth...

I just called the Grand Californian to get the policy on guest access to the WOC viewing area on the roof of the villas.

It just takes a room key to access the space. So guests of a room key holder can be invited. Hotel staff do not monitor access to the facility.

However, any Grand Californian room key card will allow access... it is NOT restricted to DVC villa room key cards.

So any LoTters attending the cocktail party/bbq at the villas would be eligible to get in, but I would expect available space to be a concern.

Not with the Space Nazi, it won't. :D

I'm definitely interested in seeing if I can actually *see* the show. That would be awesome.

Is this a dressy experience? Casual park clothes? Elaborate space alien costumes?

We're planning on an informal BBQ, Saturday the 19th- afternoonish, with no real plans afterwards, so we could try to take over the viewing area if everyone is up to it..... :D
