If it was the little helper book, understanding he only got it a couple days earlier, he sure did pick up on it fast. A dream would be a dramatic device that they haven't used yet, and I suppose they could introduce it, but everything they've shown about the survivors has been real to the character thus far in the show. I am more inclined to think it is a flashback and that he has known English this whole time.

Spoiler:
That would disappoint. It's kind of compelling, but to find out they were *both* pretending is kind of...urgh. And it makes the anger he felt towards her all the more infuriating. Unless he was really just angry at himself. Two people in love, who felt the need to deceive each other because of circumstances. Maybe he was pissed at the irony of it. But why not tell her, before he fled the island, that he could speak English, as well. Why keep pretending around the rest, too. Unless he's EVIL. But I hope not. I really hope he's as good as he appears. It is kind of fishy that he stopped in his tracks that one time she yelled at him in English. At the time, I just assumed he stopped because she was screaming at him, and maybe that was unusual for them. Ponder, ponder.

Well, he obviously kept many secrets from his wife regarding his employment. I kind of see Jin as almost....reluctantly evil? Having worked in an organized crime environment for...however long it's been....perhaps that way of doing things to achieve your goal becomes the way you do things in every area of life.

And I don't think it was the fact that she speaks English that made him so mad with her....it was that it was revealed in such a way that made him look like an utter fool in front of everyone. Being dishonored like that is big in Asian culture. Why else would he beat the hell out of Mike over the watch?

You make very good points. And I think you're right about all of this.

Kate's hot, but Shannon wears bikinis, so she wins.

I love Hurley.

I loved the extra feature disc {#7} where they had the cast talking and they were all pretty darn cool.

Did anyone notice that one of the big doners in the film looks like Locke's "father figure"? I don't think it was a quinkydink that we saw the film and the "father figure" in the same episode. I know it's not a quinkydink since the producers have said everything happens for a reason.

Spoiler:
Kate is hot. Shannon not so much. Sawyer and Sayid = droolfestarama.

Namaste.

Ok this might throw you a bone, but sadly I can't remember the whole thing that was said.

On KROQ, they were discussing the show yesterday morning. The sequence where Shannon saw Walt and he spoke to her has an interesting twist. They played the audio backwards and you could here what he said...the only problem? I can't remember what he said. My DH told me and now that I am typing this...it has slipped my mind.

whew...found it....."Press the button. No button is bad" now what does that mean? I have no clue!

BarTopDancer 10-07-2005 05:23 PM

I swore he was saying "don't push the button the button is bad"

I was trying to remember who said that.

It was me.

Thank you.
