Two songs from my mis-spent youth that still get me:
for sadness -- "Everyone Moves Away" (The Posies) for raging against The Man -- "Operation: Mindcrime" (Queensryche) Must.fornicate.now -- "Thunderkiss '65" (Rob Zombie) Current mood-changers: wanna prance/glide about my living room -- "Red Right Hand" (Nick Cave) Must.Dance.Now -- "Pico and Sepulveda" (Lee Press-on version) |
The Earth, Wind and Fire bassist scares me.
He's like a fusion of Prince and Danny Glover. :D |

I've spent many Saturday nights over the years working (as a DJ). If I was ever fortunate enough to have "Turn the Page" (by either Bob Seger or Metallica) come on the radio, it made me melancholy. But I had the live version of "The Load Out/Stay" by Jackson Browne come on one night on the way home and it made me all tingly.
Ray Charles' version of "America the Beautiful" makes me weepy and proud. I love high energy dance music cranked while I am driving. Older or newer - it doesn't matter. I had the remix of "Nasty" by Janet Jackson cranked on the way home this evening. It made me happy (and made me go close to 90). We have a CD of tribal drumming. It is kept in the bedroom. |
I had INXS's Greatest Hits cd blaring on my drive home tonight. (And speeding, too.) I decided they were a very swanky group.
