Will anyone blink if I sign up for the Rewards thing and then hand over the coupon?

Nope. In fact, they like that. (They track how many Rewards Cards a cashier opens in a day, week, month etc. You get written up if you don't sign up a certain percentage. They also keep an eye on how many transactions you have and compare it to the number of them involve the members using their Rewards Card. Again, if they don't have a certain percentage, they're screwed. That's why they are so persistent in asking for a RC whenever you go there...) And the Rewards card is free. (Unlike Barnes where you have to pay to get one.)

As Alex was saying, I also used the coupon without a Rewards Card.

Amazon.com is also having a box-set sale right now. Up to 30-50% off a lot of sets.

I stopped by Borders after taking people to San Pedro. I didn't buy anything. Yet.

Ghoulish Delight 12-03-2007 04:37 PM

I went at lunch and was tempted by:

Complete 16-disc set of Monty Python's Flying Circus
Arrested Development complete series set (not on the shelf, but available at Amazon for $55)
Anamaniacs
Coen brothers set with Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Raising Arizona, and Blood Simple. And considering we own Blood Simple already, this would be a really good deal were I to subsequently sell that copy of Blood Simple.

At the very least, I'm likely to buy one of the Animaniacs sets as a gift for someone.

Lame.
I went to the Glendale Borders and it looked like all the glass cabinets with their DVD Box Sets had all been picked through. No 'Sex in the City', no 'As Time Goes By', no James Bond...
But they did have the Pedro Almodovar box set. Tempted.

I didn't see anything I liked. I can't be tempted to buy something I don't want, even at 40% off - which, at Borders, only brings things to the price I might remotely think they're worth.

The only thing that remotely tempted me was the entirety of Monty Python's Flying Service, but I decided not to spend $60 on something I'd likely finish watching in 2013.

The Hitchcock set I DO want is already cheaper at Amazon. I may get the other Hitchcock set at Borders - if I get around to it.
