Three generations and the four most important women to me in the world standing next to each other, just being, oblivious to the fact that I was staring at them in wonder and amazement, asking the good Lord above what I had ever done to deserve such a life as I have, holding back a few slow rolling tears so as to not draw attention to myself and spoil perhaps the most perfect moment in time I could ever remember.

I love Christmas.

That's a wonderful story.

I too feel very blessed to have such a fantastic family. We were able to connect with parts of our family in ways we haven't been able to connect with before, and that was pretty great. This is the first year that so many of us have celebrated the holiday (and a first for half of the people celebrating), so it was a first for big family gatherings even for those that have been celebrating for a long time. Though it was hectic and stressful, it was totally worth it to be able to spend time with my (and Michael's) family and give them things that they truly wanted and will enjoy. Of course, things are just things, but the connection and memories are what will really last.

Christmas rocks.

Sweet! Will you be shipping that UPS or FedEx?

We set it free in the Pacific with a map to the Panama Canal. Here's hoping.

Happy Holidays swankers!

I've been lurking more and more and posting a bit more often of late and just wanted to wish everyone a "Happy Everything!"

We had a lovely Christmas... a bit of a busy one, but pleasant. We drove up to San Jose to visit Tom's family--had a blast tie-dying with them, among other things. Then on Christmas Eve, we boarded a plane and flew in tandem with Santa, landing in Detroit at 5:30 AM. We managed to make it up to my parents' home three hours later, and spent the morning with them relaxing and exchanging a few gifts. Then the whole crew (two siblings and their spouses, eight nieces and nephews) made it over for the evening, and we have been playing games, snacking on tasty food, and enjoying each other's company ever since.

I'm grateful for the health that we have and the spirit that makes up for the health we don't have. And also for you rowdy LoT, who make us feel a little more complete, a little more included, a little swankier every year. It's almost 2007, but belated Merry Christmas, anyway!
