i'm not certain, but wonder if constant exposure to weather and the elements had something to do with it. on occasion, mansion's ramp was down... and the indoor Space speedramp was always down. so, on second thought, maybe weather had nothing to do with it. perhaps people would get hurt/trip/fall and CM's would simply stop them, or, hooligans discovered the e-stop button and would do it. hmm, and here i thought i had an answer when i started this post. LOL but, off topic, i'm all a twitterpated --i'm going on a Matterhorn walkthough -- or is it an expedition? |
Be careful of the "Wells Effect"

If you're going to do a Matterhorn walk-thru, will you just sneak a look at the Well Expedition box and take a snap of the red longjohns inside?
|
How do you get to do the walk through?

part reward from my manager - part YOAMD:D "backstage dreams"

If you load a speedramp very unevenly, it will shut down and have to be reset - Speedramps are meant for people to load evenly, and continously. Space's inside ramp had the problem of surges of people hitting, not the continuous flow of people that hit Mansion's.

Ah, thanks for that very lucid explanation of the difference and likely cause of the problem.
I remain ever greatful for the Matterhorn 101 I experienced decades ago, with it's own wonderful backstage walking descent tour that was everything this Disneyland geek could have hoped for. :snap: |

But, really, put the music back the way it was, lose the music in the battle sequence, get rid of Davy Jones, add a couple of pirates swordfighting on the rocks as you exit the tunnel, lose the second two Deppamatronics, restore the altered dialogue, restore the Captain of the Wicked Wench, and the ride will be perfect again. The ride really was perfect. Why on Earth was there a need to go beyond plussing to actual alteration? There will be a day when I am King of Disneyland and many wrongs will be righted. I just hope I'm not so incredibly ancient that I can't enjoy it. |
