That's about as painful as Russel Martin taking a spill rounding second in Tuesday's game.
I try not to let losing to the Padres, no matter how tragically, get to me. IT happens every year, no matter how well the Dodgers are playing or how poorly the Padres are, they Dodgers lose to them. So I try to brush it off. Still pisses me off, though. With Saito out, the bullpen's kinda in disarray. It's an amazing bullpen, but it's definitely full of specialists. They all have kind of a hard time pitching outside of their usual role (whether it's closer, long relief, setup, etc.). Hopefully Saito will be back tonight and they can get back to their normal routines. |
I think the fact that I don't get to hear/watch games as much as I would like and that I thought I was going to hear the last three outs of a Dodger win (I mean, c'mon; three outs to go with a four run lead!) just made that whole experience painful.
I think timing had a little bit to do with it too; walking in to the store with just a man on first and coming back to bases loaded and no outs stung just a bit. And the bonehead play on the short chopper that Broxton screwed up was just annoying (at least it sounded boneheaded the way it was described on the radio). They'll recover, I know. I just hate that they always lose to SD. |

Meanwhile, how about Russel Martin?! What a superstar he's turning into, hopefully the organization will be smart enough to hold onto him and build a team around him for the long term. |
Oh no you don't, not here.....

Huh?

Well, at least he is playing. I was afraid he'd just sit until he was back in San Francisco so that he could tie and pass in front of a friendly crowd.

Something tells me he'd relish doing it at Dodger Stadium. I'm going to be at Thursday night's game. I sincerely hope he doesn't do it then because I'd like to make it out of there with my life.

Here's a question, how big of a homer do you have to be to catch number 755 or 756 and throw it back?

I have no problem with pitching around him every single at bat.
