Scaeagles, I say you quit the self sacrifice BS and let them find their own happiness. You can never *make* anyone else feel any particular way, and if they aren't choosing your absence as an excuse to be unhappy, they'll just choose something else anyways (or so it sounds).

Indeed it did. Very nice, too bad it didn't stick but a couple of the flurries were very nice to watch.

I was talking to my mom about it, and I remember on year we had a white Thanksgiving but I can't remember an actual Christmas snow (though it must have happened at least a couple of times and I remember having old snow on Christmas).

I don't do it for anyone except my wife, and she only does it for her mom and indirectly her dad, who is made to suffer if mom is unhappy. I honestly don't care about the extended family being happy....I just care about my kids and wife having a good Christmas.

But what do I know? I don't have to deal with my disfunctional family at Christmas, and I consider myself fortunate for that.

Pretty good Christmas. Got almost everything I wanted :)

Hurt my back this morning, so moving around today was kinda annoying. But it was for a good cause ;)

Alex's family does Christmas Eve dinner and a Christmas Day "brunch", so we're actually home already and probably going to enjoy some nice warm mac and cheese flavored with leftover ham.

And I'll probably need to make some soup soon, using my new crock pot!

Whew! Dance Dance Revolution is quite the workout, but for the moment at least this old dog is teaching them younglings how to boogie... :D

The gifts are all deliverd, the dinner served the dishes done, time for this Santas helper to pack it in for the night....

Merry Christmas one and all.

t minus 1 hour and counting for the roomie to return. The house is as clean as I can get it right now, she will hopefully deal. Her box containing many tokens is wrapped and I'm going to plop on the couch and listen to the Festival of 9 Lessons and Carols and read a new book I received for Xmas.

It's been a peaceful day, Tango will soon get some shrimp (which she will enjoy much more than any of her xmas toys, spoiled cat) and I will enjoy a good cuppa tea with my roomie and listen to tales of the latest Mexican adventure.

But, in the back of my mind will be lurking only the warmest of well wishes to everyone on LoT, regardless of faith or not, you're a swell bunch and any chance to tell you so is an opportunity that cannot be missed. Merry Merry and peace to all of you.

Ours was white despite the rain showers we had Sunday. We got a dusting of snow to freshen it up yesterday. I still got in a run today. Not bad, temperature around 35 F.

Ethel and Lucy are passed out on the couch snuggled in with stuffed animals each one getting one for Xmas thanks to their mommy :) I've never seen Ethel take to a stuffed animal but i guess she knows it's Xmas. They had quite the evening last night and day at my parents in the desert so i think they got tired out :) Got a whole lot of Jovi stuff and good stuff. Friend surprised me with a couple nice gifts that i knew she was creative but wow...think she beat me this year tehehehe Can't wait i'm off Sun thru Tues of next week yay 3 days off in a row....
