I also vote to dispense with them once the show has aired.

Agreed.

For those that didn't see the episode yet, Jack and Kate are dead.

OK, they're not

I'm a little worried about the flash-forwards.

Last year there was a show called The Nine that had a bank robbery in episode 1 that we saw begin and end without seeing any of the events, but these "missing" events had a dramatic effect on the people involved. So the question there was "what happened?" Each episode we would be treated with flashbacks to the robbery and learn a little bit more information to answer the question. I liked the actors, the characters, and the story, but I couldn't stand being strung along and finally dropped the show before it even got the ax from the network.

Lost has been somewhat similar, but also very different in one important factor. In The Nine, I (the audience) was the only one left clueless. The characters knew exactly what happened to them so there was nothing for them to discover. In Lost the characters have been just as clueless as me. So instead of feeling strung along I feel like I'm part of the group, discovering new information along with the castaways or sometimes even before.

But if we're going to be getting flash-forwards now instead of flashbacks I'm concerned that it's going to have the same problem as The Nine.

Cool recap of the show.

Oh SNAP! According to the screenshot in that recap, the dude in the chair in Jacob's cabin was....Jack's dad!!!

And according to Lostpedia there was more that I missed.

That was Charlie that broke the glass in the police station with "They need you" written on his hand.

Locke's coworker Randy was there at the scene of the chase.

Here are the frames of the mystery man from last season.

ETA - sorry, I re-read the screen shot. I know they were talking about that last season - being Christian Shepard. Does anyone else find the name Christian Shepard a bit to coincidental with the science vs. faith sub-storyline between Jack and Locke?

Btw....just a cute bit of trivia that someone pointed out to me about Thursday nights show.

Game of Horse and Jack stopped at H O.

Charlie was spotted by Hurley near the Ho Ho 's.

So what you say?

Convert H and O to their repective numerical placement in the Alphabet.

There was also an H and O (sorta) on the wall when the "lawyer" was visiting Hurley.

Also, The guy filming Hurley's crash and arrest is Randy, Locke's boss at the box factory, and Hurley's boss at Mr Clucks.

And check out what's on this chalkboard!
