Anybody can read any post of yours that is make in public without being on your friends list or putting you on theirs.
If you have somebody on your friends list they can read any post made friends only regardless of whether you are on their friends list (though obviously, your posts won't automatically show up on their friends list page unless they add you). There are some LJs I read only when I remember to go directly to their journal since I don't want it listed on my profile.
So, if you've added iSm he can read all of your non-private posts without adding you back, he probably just won't remember to go look and see if you've made any.

Ever correct, as usual, Alex. I always post friends only and I would never make an effort to check someone's journal if they weren't on my friends page, thus my logic didn't extend as far as yours.
