DisneyDaniel 03-16-2005 06:16 PM

I love this thread! It's great hearing about the background behind so many names, learning the correct pronunciations, and name changes from different boards.

Daniel is my first name and several friends/co-workers started calling me "DisneyDaniel" a few years ago because I visit the Disneyland Resort so often. Most of them thought I was weird for visiting DL/DCA several times a month--but I've "converted" many of them! Now, about 1/4 of our office staff are Annual Passholders! I wish Disney would give "sales commission" for AP referrals! ;)

So.. do you have a screen name that people might not understand? That they might not know how to pronounce?
Repeat the story here folks...

Me? I'm Ponine.
It's said Poe-knee-n Two sylables (Not Poe-nine)

Ok, please tell me this isn't my fault? LOL ;)

I'm jdramj, formerly know as "I'm Tink, Not Stink!" and then "Tink, not Stink". I changed it because it was too hard to remember that I had the "!" at the end of it and would mess up signing back in. Well it turns out the day I signed up here I should have gone shorter with "TNS", but I was too unispired and thought of it after the fact, and I just went with my yahoo ID.

"jdramj" are all the first initals of every one in my immediate family. My husband is "J"-Jason, I'm "d"-Dawn....the rest are the kids in the order they were born.

wendybeth 03-16-2005 06:37 PM

I went with Wendybeth at MP because someone had already snagged Wendy and I was too lazy to create a username that I might forget. ( I didn't actually post there for a long while). Wendy is because my parents had run out of names by the time I came along (#6), and Peter Pan was popular with my sibs. Beth is short for Elizabeth, but then you all probably knew that....

DwoernAdale- not boring at all! (For boring example, see above). I had wondered where your name came from, although I did pick up that the 'Adale' was probably from Robin Hood.

But but.. YOU are Tink, Not Stink! ???? Where have I been!

Gemini Cricket 03-16-2005 10:48 PM

My good friend Axel from Germany pronounces "Gemini" as "Jiminy" as in Cricket. I always thought that was funny. Silly Germans.

Gemini Cricket started off as a character at MP in the "Stinkerbell and Mad Madam Mim Takes Over the World" thread. I was their spy.

It has evolved to mean many things. I think a lot and have a great big conscience. I also find a duality in my posts like the Gemini zodiac sign. Sometimes I'm crunchy, sometimes I'm a goof.

I'm not a Gemini. I'm a Pisces.

Before that I was DisneyLad (which was too confusing in posts) and Doc (which I didn't want confused with Doc Krock from MP).

One thing about Gemini Cricket. He's much wittier on the boards. In person, he's rather shy. But when he gets to know you, he comes out of the shell.

Ralphie is my partner... who registered but never posts.

:)

I have been posting for almost 5 years as either DisneyLad, Doc or GC.

Mousey Girl 03-16-2005 10:51 PM

This was one of my main chat names from my chatting days. I started collecting mice stuff at 10. I now have over 1500 and can completly cover a 6 ft Christmas tree with nothing but mice ornaments.

mistyisjafo 03-16-2005 11:29 PM

I'm Mistyisjafo (Miss T is JAFO)

Misty also being the stripper name my friends & I made up for me one lost Vegas weekend. It was, needless to say, a VERY good time.

JAFO - Is a very old reference to my Disneyland Parking lot days. We nicknamed ourselves the JAFOs = Just Another F**ing Observer. Anyways, we used it as a code word for "The P-lot is Having a Party if you know us you'll come" because the higher ups would no longer allow us to post party flyers so we'd put up flyers saying "Jafo meeting every 3rd Wednesday at the twin towers, Huntington Beach". Stuff like that. For whatever reason I've used it ever since.

Other monikers: MistyMonroe (love Marilyn Monroe) or tgisjafo (my first & last initial my standard JAFO status)

blueerica 03-16-2005 11:45 PM

Um -- my name is blueerica

The blue part of my name goes back so far, it has little meaning anymore except that it's a name I sign up with often.

I used to be BlueEeyore on MP.

I think I changed it some time ago just because I thought I would be extra boring and go with my real name, kind of.
