So on the news today they were discussing the quake clusters that have been happening in the IE.

They reported there was "between a 1-in-100 and a 1-in-20 chance" of a major quake in the next few days.

Never seen them give numbers even that specific before, but it's still a very low probability.

This is not the news I wanted to hear just before I come down there! I remember there being at least two earthquakes when we there 4-5 years ago. I didn't really enjoy them!

What is the IE?

"Inland Empire" - Riverside and San Bernardino.

It's a bit confusing when we're down there and hear that term used. (Usually during the weather report). We're the heart of the Inland Empire up here as well.

Also known as that place east of LA that smells bad that you have to pass through to get to Vegas.

Parts of which are sometimes referred to as "The 909"

Which is no longer an accurate moniker as half of the IE is now the 951 area code.

Here in the federal government, the less accurate a moniker is, the better we like it!
