Buying a car is a game.

Not really. I made a sincere offer that he didn't accept. If he had accepted it, I'd have bought it. He is basically saying he's holding out for me to agree to his higher price and hoping someone will agree to pay more than I've offered over the next couple of weeks. From my perspective, it's supply and demand. There's no demand for the car, so the price gets lower the longer it sits there.

So how is he "jerking you" and more than you're "jerking him?" There's nothing wrong with your strategy, and unless he's lying to you about something there's nothing wrong with his. |
And, ya know, there's nothing wrong with you jerking each other. Just let it happen, and enjoy. It's ok.;)

So of course he's playing the game. I am too, no doubt, but my offer hasn't changed (was at dealer invoice - 1400) except to offer splitting the difference between his last offer and my original. Which I found odd that he didn't accept, really, as that wasn't much of a difference. |
If this thread makes it onto a third page you will need to change it's title...

I had a dream that the Volvo dealer offer to buy my car and sell me a C30 with payments of $99 a month. I woke up before I could take them up on the offer.

If you're going to muck around in car dealing, please don't pretend you aren't wheeling and dealing yourself.

ummm, cp, I'm not pretending anything of the sort....

I am going to play along now. But I've only made one offer. |
