There's a short interview with Mark Hamill from last year, when rumors about that clip were circulating. He claims he has no recollection of filming that scene. But he also points out that other scenes (he gives the example of the scene in Empire when his hand is rebuilt) were shot in post without him, using someone as a double. Notice that you never see Luke's face clearly in that clip...

Since he used a sheer fabric, true "privacy" effectiveness obviously wasn't the aim, just the visual cleverness, but I still can't help but think it would have been a little bit improved had he secured the bottom of the curtain to a wire as well so it didn't flop around so much when it changed directions.

It also only works until the defensive line has actually grown to a size that they could almost kill you with a pile driving tackle should any of them catch on while you're sauntering through.

(Also, it's funny but if their coach actually called that play in in any kind of serious game situation I can't help but think it is a dick move.)

Actually, it looks spot-on with the Australian Production. I notice that Bernadette is once more being played by the fabulous Tony Sheldon who has been in every production of the show now. He's WONDERFUL, and Stoat's sister made the mock-dior number that Tony wears in the show (amongst other costumes for the production).

It looks tacky, but it's not as bad as it looks. Or maybe it is, and I'm too busy having a good time to notice :D

That's great. Reminds me of my one big fight in high school. Some kid tripped me in the hall - books go flying etc etc. So I stood up, closed my eyes and one roundhouse later, the jerk had a split lip (I wasn't big enough to pick him up, anyway).

Ghoulish Delight 03-21-2011 12:09 PM

If the Jedi Training Academy is anything, it's a study in crowd control psychology and the sway of authority figures. The fact that the above scene, or similar, doesn't happen every single showing is a testament to how well they designed that show so that, in a VERY short amount of time, they manage to do the seemingly impossible - get 20 children < 10 years old to follow instructions exactly the first time. Bravo.

Interesting that they have Plexiglass (assuming that is Plexi) on the sides of the cars. Why did they do that?

I sang the Rossini cat duet back when I was a boy soprano. I had such a crush on the girl singing the other half of the duet, but, well, I was a boy with a soprano singing voice, so, I wasn't exactly a lady killer. (Yeah, I got beat up a lot in school.) It's a terrific duet, though.

With thanks to The Soup, the Russian newscaster enjoyed the story a little too much. Make sure to watch to the end.

Bella eating in her chair

Quote:

This is our cute dog Bella. She was diagnosed with congenital megaesophagus soon after we found her at 4 months old. Megaesophagus means that her esophagus is enlarged and lacks the muscle mobility to swallow food while horizontal. This is her "Baileys Chair," which she needs sit in while eating and for 10 minutes after she eats. She eats soft dog food with a little water mixed in. She is now seven months old and doing great!

Morrigoon 01-02-2012 08:33 PM

Wow, that's seriously cool. Sad that she needs it, but cool that someone loved their dog enough to invent the chair.

The best cover of Voodoo Child I've ever heard on a mandolin.

Strangler Lewis 01-03-2012 04:29 PM

From what I've learned recently, others think this is really great, but

I've been inexplicably sad since I clicked on it.

Ghoulish Delight 01-03-2012 04:35 PM

Maybe this will cheer you up.

Strangler Lewis 01-03-2012 05:36 PM

That only compounds the sadness. I first heard about this via e-mail from a sixth grade mom proposing that my daughter's class do this as a secret flash mob "spoof" during the school talent show. I'm fairly confident that "spoof" means slavishly accurate adoring tribute.

CoasterMatt 01-03-2012 05:38 PM

I've had seizures filled with more soul than that "choreography". They at least ended with me spitting out blood and pissing my pants.

Strangler Lewis 01-03-2012 05:45 PM

I'd propose that variation to the mom, but I doubt it would go over well, and she would bring up Jesus. Of course, she generally does that anyway, so maybe it's worth a shot.

I couldn't watch either video. I could feel my soul being sucked away.

I don't get it. Why would anybody watch this?

CoasterMatt 01-03-2012 09:28 PM

I'd rather watch this - Dance Monkey Boy

JWBear 01-03-2012 11:25 PM

You no longer have to live in shame.

Frikitiki 01-04-2012 12:53 AM

The Double Dream hands guy shows up in the trailer for the movies for Regal advising people to turn off their phone. He's on DDR of all things.

Kevy Baby 01-04-2012 10:44 PM

I should probably watch the clip to understand what everyone is talking about, but from what I've read, I can't bring myself to watch. It is quite a conundrum.

CoasterMatt 01-04-2012 11:27 PM

I'd recommend you not watch it, Kevy.

Kevy Baby 01-05-2012 01:34 AM

Then I shall remain blissfully ignorant.

If ignorance is bliss, I must be freakin' ecstatic!

lashbear 01-05-2012 05:00 AM

I can see Kevy getting plastered at the next swank camp, donning a tutu with no undies and doing that routine.

Kevy - you HAVE to watch it... so you can learn it.

Kevy, it's no big deal, it's a guy doing dance instruction for his own made-up dance, and he's embarrassingly bad.

The song seems endless, and it is. It's still going on! When Disney took over ABC, they found out that they are required to keep a minimum of six celebrities on that stage keeping that song going. (I believe that at this moment, Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, Drew Carey, Gary Burghoff, Curtis "Booger" Armstrong and Sally Struthers are holding strong with it.)

Cool! Definitely a motion-sickness danger, though. Liked it, but only could watch for a little bit.

I wonder if the screaming lady was with the drunk guy. Would certainly explain why he got drunk. I would, too, if I was married to her. She annoyed me while I watched, screaming " somebody do something" while herself doing nothing.

Good job on the part of the CMs. Keeping people away from him, trying to control him.

Obviously she was unable to help lest she risk spilling the beer she was carrying.

From a situation control point of view, the "security" CM was pretty much a text book example of how NOT to deal with a drunk. Once you have made the decision to use physical force (pepper spray) you don't give the perp time to shake it off and stand back up. Hit him again, cuff him, whatever. Backup had plenty of time to arrive, where were they? From the news report the guests were still restraining the guy when the local police showed up.

Yeah, I saw that. Sprayed the guy, and let him sit there and did nothing so he had a chance to get back up. Glad the guests were able to get him pinned!

CoasterMatt 02-20-2012 10:10 PM

I was hoping the dude would pepper spray the screaming lady.

Clowns in Russia have big brass balls.

This one is doing a trapeze act hanging from a helicopter with no harness.

NSFBTD but you knew that right?

(Note: I'm not sure the guy is Russian, that's just what someone else commented.)

SzczerbiakManiac 02-23-2012 01:58 PM

Just watching that gives me heart palpitations!

lashbear 02-23-2012 03:06 PM

I don't think BTD would have trouble with him - the only colour was his socks, and no makeup. Still, if she's scared of heights she shouldnt watch.

I went weak at the knees watching that.

alphabassettgrrl 02-23-2012 07:39 PM

trapeze act! Wow. I do wonder if anyone on the ground could see him. Next i want to see him jump from one helicopter-trapeze to another.
