Those big dicks you speak of, Prudence, were scattered all over the roads around here today and yesterday. Like I said, amatuer hour. People, take note: SUV's only slide faster and farther on ice.

We're getting hit by an Arctic blast this week- supposed to get really, really cold. Merde. I really hate winter.

Prudence 11-28-2006 12:47 AM

This is totally unusual weather for us. It hasn't stormed like this in at over a decade, that I can recall. I5 is STILL horribly backed up around northgate. All lanes closed northbound, as of 15 minutes ago. I am thinking that I might be missing work tomorrow. And school. It's the last day of one of my classes and I actually wanted to go, but at the moment it's supposed to get worse, not better, and I don't want to be driving home in the ick at 10pm. (Buses don't run up here that late.)

People are such idiots. I'd gladly take them out, except I risk injury myself, and somehow idiots always get a free pass and it's the sane person's fault.

Maybe it'll be better in the morning - but Seattle schools are already closed for Tuesday so I doubt it.

I'm staying in tomorrow- watching my baby niece and snuggling with the Girl. I think it might be a jammy day. I may even cook a turkey!

I had cold turkey salad for dinner. :D With chilled champagne.

so, looks like vBulletin upgrades will hijack any hopes of a birthday thread for me this year. does this make it sort of like a "leap year"? though i'll be at the Resort and enjoying dinner and candlelight procession, i was looking forward to comming home to see a birthday thread. ehh.

You will not be missed ML (no one gets left behind). The downtime for the upgrade shouldn't take that long.

So, I'm bummed. I've got a good friend in Glendale who is slowly suffering and dying from bone cancer. I had hoped to make the trek to see her next weekend. Unfortunately, she asked me not to come, and I totally respect her wishes. I cancelled my plans for the December visit to LA.

I'm so grateful she's had the last 6 weeks of really wonderful boon comfort, health and good spirits. In those last six weeks we've had some awesome phone conversations, she's so wise and funny and dammit, I'm so going to miss her. But now is the downward slide, she's tired and the pain is increasing and she is asking for peace. So now along with everyone in our group of friends, we're praying that she receives the boon of a peaceful passing. :(

Meanwhile, of course because things are slow, people in pick-ups and SUVs are flying down the shoulder because they're extremely potent with shockingly large genitalia and therefore get to do that sort of thing.

I now require an adult beverage.

First and foremost, glad to hear you made it home safely and were able to enjoy an adult beverage.

Next, I hope you get to enjoy seeing some of those SUVs and trucks veered off on the shoulder after having passed at high speed now waiting for a tow

For the record, any unforseen problems that occur are now officially Kevy's fault.

For some reason my freezer decides to stop working randomly. This is the second morning I have woken up to nearly defrosted food. Last time it was working again by the time the service people came out.

I made sure the doors were closed. The temp is cold. Is there anything else I can check?
