Were the people cleaning clothes with gasoline next to a campfire, too?

My cousin's apartment building suffered a major fire recently when roofers ran their gasoline powered generator next to the bucket of hot tar while under power lines.

I head on the news today, the Apt. building I used to live in burned down yesterday. No big deal (for me) its been years since I've even driven by there but it does get your attention.

Excuse me while I go check the batteries in my smoke detectors...

Edited to add: OK, that's extra freaky, GD posted the above while I was crafting this message...

I prefer bacon to fire safety, and often disable smoke detectors during the frying of bacon, only to forget to put the batteries back in until much much later. The bacon though, is very good.

Sounds like quite the predicament. You know vodka burns with a clean flame.

I hate people who spill beer on the floor... especially when it now smells like I've been drinking.

So...I danced with Bill Nye the Science Guy on Saturday night. He didn't introduce himself that way but his name was Bill and I finally realized why he looked so familiar. (It helped that I saw him on an episode of "Numb3rs" recently.) Oh, and he's a great dancer.:)

How is he in the sack?

He spoke at Susan's cousin's graduation (from Harvey Mudd) a few years ago. Quite an interesting and bright guy!

Ooooh, test deadlines. I loved waiting until the last second to cram for tests. Nearly as much as I loved withholding copy from my editor until just before press day.:D
