Yup, blew well here in Garden Grove last night as well. But I secure my Christmas Decorations well enough to survive a class 3 huricane...

I only lost one giant lolypop, it fell over so it needs to be re-staked.

And there was a pretty good amount of frost on the cars this morning!

Haven't checked ours this morning, but I bet our train fell over as usual.

Pretty damn cold here today. Yay winter!

Way to try and trick us into thinking that Phoenix has trees.

Well, Saguaro cacti. They fall over, too.

Good morning, swanksters! I am imagining the LoT Diner. It's a chrome-clad deco original somewhere in LA, red-upholstered chrome stools at the counter. The smell of bacon is heavy in the air.

"Do you like pancakes?" the waitperson asks.

A woman of a certain age studies the waitperson over the rims of her cateye glasses. "Pour moi, le pain perdu," she says.

The waitperson rolls his eyes. "She always orders French toast," he says in a stage whisper to nobody and everybody. "In French."

"Et des lardons," the woman calls after him.

"Yeah, yeah, I know," he returns. "Bacon. French toast and bacon."

Why is it called "lost bread", I wonder.

(Oh... and lardon sounds like a type of hedon that you get from eating bacon.)

24 degrees in Dublin (if the car dealership sign can be trusted). That's pretty close to the coldest I've experienced in the Bay Area without being way up in the hills.

We woke up to 10 degrees this morning. Of course the heaters in the back half of the house are no longer working so we put an electric heater in the hall. It was 55 degrees in my house this morning! It's so cold in the house I feel like a popsicle.

To top it off the waterline going to the fridge froze and the smoke alarms started in again!

It's going to be a wonderful day, I can tell already!!
