Because I do not live in a city with snow, nor did I really have to shovel enough of it in VA, I can still wax poetic about the joys of being snowbound. I can sympathize for you if it's going to be a LONG and DEEP winter of the fluffy white stuff.

The snow is beautiful. Having said that, it was 29 degrees yesterday when I left for work and 32 this morning. The defroster had to actually de-FROST the windows and not just defog them. I don't think living in the snow is for me. It's a nice place to visit from time to time but just the heating costs alone must cost a fortune!

During the three coldest months of the winter, our total gas and electric bill is between $350 and $400/month.

When you live in this kind of a climate, you just have to join winter (ice skating, Nordic skiing, skijoring which is a sport I hope to take up, beaucoup de hot chocolate) because you sure can't beat it.

If you don't know what skijoring is, you really need to google it. SFW Seriously, you will love. :)
