I think that's the only benefit of the flu. I hope you feel better soon.

Last night I went to Disneyland in the rain to see Stompy Jones. The band drives down from San Francisco so I figured it was the least I could do to show up and watch them play. But would anyone else be there?

They'd moved the chairs and tables to the back half of the dance floor (the dance floor and bandstand are the only covered areas) but the floor was wet. So the cast member in charge (I think her name is Margaret) brought out towels and had all the early arrivals shuffling around on towels to dry the floor. The floor stayed damp and slippery all evening and I kept expecting them to stop the band but Margaret told us she would let them play as long as possible.

An amazing (considering the ugly weather) number of people showed up and it turned into a really fun night. Usually there are two or three big groups of dancers who keep to their own sides of the dance floor but we were all squashed together and had to mix more and it was great. All other entertainment was cancelled due to the weather but Stompy was able to play all of the their usual four sets. I don't think that would have happened if it had been any other band.
:snap:

That's great to hear they let them continue - and that no-one slipped !

lindyhop, one of the highlights of my trip was seeing you cut a rug. So awesome.

So it seems the company that stores the Nutcracker set that we put together this morning has been renting it out. They're only supposed to store it but it always seems to come back differently than we packed it up; usually this takes the form of damage.

On the other hand, maybe this means that one of these days they'll get a new set that isn't falling apart. I like the Nutcracker, but I frequently don't like the sets.

And Wednesday I'm going to Disneyland. Anyone want to come play? Maybe for a little bit?
