Soooo.... we just got back from the vet. Over the weekend, Jack developed a hemotoma in his ear. Apparently, one of the side effects of his hypothyroidism is that he's prone to ear infections. Well, he got one and shook his head a little too violently and there you have it.
The vet opened up the hemotoma today and put in a little drainage tube, which has to stay in from 2-3 weeks. Therefore, the little guy has to wear an elizabethan collar. He's home now, and it's only 3 hours post-op. Other than the mild annoyance that the collar presents, he seems to be doing fine and not at all affected by the anesthetic. What a dog! ![]() |
Awwww! Jack looks so cute - even with a big red ear!
Whenever one of my cats have to wear a collar, they always remind me of the Pixar Lamp. Now, you need to edge the thing with lace and get him a pair of velvetine pantaloons. |
Is Jack wearing something in a leopard print?

When he was rescued over the summer, he was only mostly housebroken (he still marks wherever he feels his scent is needed). We decided to wait until the thyroid problem is under control and he's secure in a three-dog house before we start trying to correct that. Hence, the leopard number. |
Wait...you're telling me he's wearing a leopard print diaper?
