That's whet we are doing. (I'm just taking a short break! Really!)

Yeah, me too. I'd love a nap.

Gotta love cities -

There is a house across the street that got permission from the city to have a party so loud that everyone can hear their music loud and clear.

I don't care what the city says, I don't think they give permits to disturb the peace of the rest of the tax payers.

Tomorrow (well, later today actually) is delivery time for the new teevee. Just completed building the temporary stand (until I can build a nice fancy one - out of either cherry or walnut). In the morning we clear a path from the front door to the throne (TV stand - not the toilet). Hopfully it arrives in time for us to get at least one movie in before departing for the year.

And the one (HDMI) cable that runs from the DVD to the TV is over $100 - just for one stinkin cable!!!

I dunno. I found a link to "ask the mayor", so I did.

The cops said it was an event sponsered by the city (in a private home?).

I've never paid more than $30 for an HDMI cable?! Yikes! I hate to type this, knowing I'll get "quoted" ...but is yours super-long or something?

:D

As my wife will attest, mine is only average length - just eight feet.

But joking aside, you made me look into this phenomenon a bit just now. I went to a lot of different stores last night knowing I would need this cable today for the hookup - same price everywhere I went.

Googling a bit on the topic, it didn't take long to run into a number of discussions about cables like this one that basically let me know I was a fool for spending that much money!

Since I need it today, I am going to see how much I can get the cable for at Orvac's - I think that will be my best bet on a Sunday. And then back to Best Buy for some money back.

Thank you for pointing this out lizziebith!

We've just cancelled out TV delivery and got this instead.

University of Texas Installs Ron Jeremy Sized HDTV

It is a tad larger at 134 feet wide and 55 feet tall. Now, to line up a 7.1 surround system to match.
