It's the place where a girl I knew in high school that moved away in 10th grade just found me.

Similarly it is the place I found all sorts of people I used to know and confirmed that I have no interest in talking to them simply because I used to know them. Thus becoming sufficiently masteful of privacy settings that I can acknowledge that I used to know them by letting them be friends but not actually in any other way being aware of them.

I occasionally indulge in political and religious discourse here that I would never, ever engage in on Facebook.
