Is this a birth announcement or did I miss one? No matter. Congratulations to you and yours. Enjoy these times. They go by pretty quickly.

Actually, the first year with our first kid went by pretty slowly as everything felt weighted with significance. But everything since then is just whizzing by.

During the last storm my outdoor thermometer was broken, but according to my car it was 30 when I took The Boy to school at 7:45. Since the temp is 3 degs off I know it was actually 27. Poor Pooh's auto waterer was frozen solid, so I had to leave him a tupper with non-icy water.

Nickolas was very upset when I told him that the forcasts had changed and it would not be snowing today.

On the almost plus side, I got a hold of DSL finally. AFter the Indian kept reading the same script over and over I politly asked for tier 2 (meaning someone in the U.S.A.). After talking to the tier 2 guy, they are sending someone out today. I know what's wrong, David knows what's wrong, now I just have to hope that they can fix the mess they created.

I need a cheap room, in Vegas, on or walking distance from the strip for the last weekend in Feb. Stop laughing.

Usually the cheapest on the strip, depending on which end you want to be closer to is Circus Circus or Excalibur. I detest both of them but they do tend to run a bit cheaper. And, as much as I hate to say it, I've actually done pretty well at Excalibur.

Plenty of cheap rooms to be had downtown but the cab fare will kill ya.

Which end of the strip?
Lemme know and I'll put my goons to work :)

Hmm... flying out, then? I would suggest Sahara, but it's not super (as in "I wouldn't walk back to the hotel drunk") close. If the Tropicana's still open (they're due to renovate/somethingsomething) it might also be a good deal. There are few casinos in the middle that might prove cost-effective, though their prime location in the center of the strip might make them more expensive. Not to mention there's a big clown head outside of one of them (Boardwalk) and we both know how you feel about him.

So.... in about 24 hours I'm going to be freezing my A$$ off. I couldn't find my long johns or my "silkies" (my chillier friends hopefully know what I'm talking about), so I know I'll have to buy them in Utah.

In other words... BRRRR.

The monorail helps with that.

There are also lots of good options just off the strip.
