The only thing I had to do with this was noticing the spam posting (and reporting it). Somebody was able to sneak in a registration and make a post with a link to their gambling site. My mistake was quoting the post (since deleted) in my reply.

Due to misunderstandings in the distant past, I am wary of board pranks.
