There is something wrong about a Mardis Gras celebration ending at 5:00 PM

It makes it hard to get there after work! ;) Not to mention a Mardis Gras celebration without booze! |
Someone could run a hose down from the bar at Club 33, I suppose. :p
I don't know why, and likely it will be meh, but I'm more interested in the Chinese New Year's celebration at DCA featuring expanded tastes of Asian cuisine. I feel like a sucker for wanting to check this out, as the Lucky Fortune Cookery - which will be the centerpiece of this experiment -has always had pretty lousy Chinese food. |
And from Al's update today:

Thanks for reminding me to check Al. I find this stuff so interesting:

Still sad I'm missing this. It may go without saying but Al's update is really interesting this time and worth a read, at least for this out-of-touch APer. |
Seriously? Complaints? Everyone at our show ate it up. And there were no Walk-Ins. Everyone had a ressie and the doors were closed. I had to sneak Issac into the saloon. The entire audience adored Miss Lilly's flirting ways and the obviously old-west-themed Can-Can dancers. What The Giant Fvck?!

I find it ironic that things that would have sent Walt over the edge (hair, dress, etc...) are now normal and what he thought of as family friendly is now taboo to some.
|
I know, right? Weird world.
Anyway, that was one depressing Al's Update. When the total failure of the public to Grok the Golden Horseshoe Revue - and its revival to be a financial and dismal P.R. failure are the least sad things in the Update, that is one update I wish I'd missed. Sheesh. |
I remember when I first started reading Al Lutz in his DIG forums and even before MP, during the later part of the Pressler era, all of his updates were depressing. Then, around the shine and polish for the 50th and leading into the DCA redux, things got so much brighter. So this update took me back to the olden days!
