Happy - Oingo Boingo (from the Summer School soundtrack)

Don't got a pretty girl who loves me alot
Don't got a fast car that looks real hot
Don't got a fine pad or stereo
And I don't do well in the school where I go, go, go, go, go

But I'm happy, happy
I'm happy though the world is upside down
I'm happy that we all made it through another day
When I pick up the phone I still remember what to say
I'm happy that my brain still lives inside my head
Most of all I think I'm happy
Happy that I ain't dead

I read the paper, I saw the news
All those people out there singin' the blues
They get excited, why don't they just relax
All we got to do is kick back, back, back

And be happy, happy
Happy though the whole world is ready to blow
I'm happy that I made it through another day
When I pick up the phone I still remember what to say
I'm happy that my brain still lives inside my head
Most of all I think I'm happy
Happy that I ain't dead

I know a guy with plenty of loot
You'd never catch him in a two dollar suit
He's got gold chains, plenty of rings
He told me money, it don't mean a thing, don't mean a thing
If you ain't happy, happy
Happy though the whole world is upside down
Be happy that you made it through another day
When you pick up the phone you still remember what to say
Be happy that your brain still lives inside your head
Most of all I think I'm happy.....

I'm happy
I'm happy though the whole thing is ready to blow
Be happy that the sun has rised up again
That somewhere in this world I still got a friend
Be happy that the big one, it hasn't dropped yet
Be happy that you still got something
Something, something to forget
I'm happy

(I'm happy, so happy)

I was swimming down the barrel of a fish, of a throat, of a circus, of a highway.
I was searching through the stream, for some dinner, for a lady, for a respite, for a way to get to you.
You were flailing, you were dangling, you were waiting, you were hanging, and then I came.
Now we’re walking and we’re running and we’re singing and we’re sunning, all in the name of some forgotten blame.

Doesn’t matter if it’s your fault, doesn’t matter if it’s mine.
Now all that really matters is we’re running out of time.

I was flying out the window from the fire and the walls came down on me and I was far away.
I was fleeing from desire and the passion and the hire til I was cornered and the ****er captured me.
I was in interrogation, in the fortress, in the station, and the pigs were asking why.
No I didn’t have an answer cause they didn’t have a question, so I had no choice but to lie.

Doesn’t matter if it’s your fault, doesn’t matter if it’s mine.
Now all that really matters is we’re running out of time.
And the sun and the trees and stars and the seas, came all at once to grab me
Yeah, the sun and the trees and moon and the weeds, said it would be all right.
So I unleashed my love, took it out and I sprayed it, all over the station. Oh Yeah.
Yeah I unleashed my love, and I brandished it all around.
So they couldn’t take my love, No they couldn’t take my love and I watched them expire one by one by one.
And I sat with my people in my heavenly steeple under my lover, our God-given sun,
The light that shines for everyone,

Doesn’t matter if it’s your fault, doesn’t matter if it’s mine.
Now all that really matters is we’re running out of time.
Doesn’t matter if it’s your fault, doesn’t matter if it’s mine.
Now all that really matters is we’re running out of time.

They built you a temple and locked you away
But they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done.....
Only the good die young
Thats what I said
Only the good die young

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain’t too pretty we ain’t too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Aw but that never hurt no one

Come on Virginia show me a sign
Send up a signal I’ll throw you the line
The stained-glass curtain you’re hiding behind
Never lets in the sun
Darlin’ only the good die young
I tell ya
Only the good die young

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation
You got a brand new soul
Mmmm, and a cross of gold
But Virginia they didn’t give you quite enough information
You didn’t count on me
When you were counting on your rosary

They say there’s a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it’s better but I say it ain’t
I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
The sinners are much more fun...

You know that only the good die young
I tell ya
Only the good die young

You say your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation
Aww she never cared for me
But did she ever say a prayer for me?

Come out come out Virginia don’t let me wait,
The Catholic girls start much too late
Sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one,
You know that only the good die young

Oh gosh! How could I forget this one! When I worked in a Resident Physician clinic, we would get together on Saturday nights and have drunken Karaoke parties. One of our Chief Resident's could do this song and sound so very Billy Joel like...it was amazing!

Just The Way You Are
The Stranger Released: 1977
Billy Joel
Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore

I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

Big Bottom ~ Spinal Tap

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'
That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

I met her on Monday, twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day
You know what I mean

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

Edelweiss
Unknown
(The Sound Of Music Soundtrack)

Edelweiss, Edelweiss,
Every morning you greet me,
Small and white,
Clean and Bright,
You look happy to meet me.
Blossoms of snow may you bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever,
Edelweiss, Edelweiss,
Bless my homeland forever.

This was Kat and Bailey's good night song for such a long time when they were little...it still reminds me of them being little...precious, innocent to the world.

I used to sing this one to Tori:

Desmond has a barrow in the market place
Molly is the singer in a band
Desmond says to molly-girl I like your face
And molly says this as she takes him by the hand.
Obladi oblada life goes on bra
Lala how the life goes on
Obladi oblada life goes on bra
Lala how the life goes on.

Desmond takes a trolly to the jewellers store
Buys a twenty carat golden ring
Takes it back to molly waiting at the door
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing.

In a couple of years they have built
A home sweet home
With a couple of kids running in the yard
Of desmond and molly jones.

Happy ever after in the market place
Molly lets the children lend a hand
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face
And in the evening she’s a singer with the band.

And if you want some fun-take obladi oblada.

The Beatles

(I have no idea where that exclamation thing came from, but oh well....)

Moon River
Mancini-Mercer

Moon Hmm hmm,
Da da da da dee
I'm crossing you da da da dee.
Oh, dream da da, you heart breaker,
Da da da da da da da da hmm hmm

Two drifters off to see da da.
Hmm hmm a lot of da da dee.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
da da da da da da,
my huckle-dada da,
Da da da and hmm.

This Is The Life (theme to Johnny Dangerously) - Weird Al Yankovic

I eat filet mignon seven times a day
My bathtub's filled with Perrier
What can I say
This is the life

I buy a dozen cars when I'm in the mood
I hire somebody to chew my food
I'm an upwardly mobile dude
This is the life

They say that money corrupts you
But I can't really tell
I got the whole world at my feet
And I think it's pretty swell

I got women lined up outside my door
They've been waitin' there since the week before
Who could ask for more
This is the life

You're dead for a real long time
You just can't prevent it
So if money can't buy happiness
I guess I'll have to rent it

Yeah, every day I make the front page news
No time to pay my dues
I got a million pairs of shoes
This is the life

I got a solid gold Cadillac
I make a fortune while I sleep
You can tell I'm a living legend
Not some ordinary creep

No way, I'm the boss, the big cheese
Yeah, I got this town on its knobby little knees
And I can do just what I please
This is the life

That's right, I'm the king, number one
I buy monographed Kleenex by the ton
I pay the bills, I call the shots
I grease the palms, I buy the yachts

One thing I can guarantee
The best things in life, they sure ain't free
It's such a thrill just to be me
This is the life
Waah, this is the life
