"Through The Dark"

as I walk away
I look over my shoulder
to see what I'm leaving behind

pieces of puzzles
and wishes on eyelashes fail

oh how do I show all the love
inside my heart

for this is all new
and I'm feeling my way through the dark

and I used to talk
with honest conviction
of how I predicted my world
I'm gonna leave it to star gazers
tell me what your telescope says

oh what is in store for me now?
it's coming apart

I know that it's true
'cause I'm feeling my way through the dark

try to find a light on somewhere
try to find a light on
somewhere
I'm finding I'm falling in love with the dark over here

oh oh what do I know
I don't care
where I start

for my troubles are few
as I'm feeling my way through the dark
through the dark
I'm feeling my way through the dark

a moment in time
so fleeting, so rare
all the time in the world
all the time to spare

and now you've moved on
into memories hold
special times to remember
as new days unfold

vacation is over
such a pity, a crime
still, I'll just be thankful
and ask for more time

:D

special thanks to all the campers for making this vacation one I'll never forget.

I think I found my christmas
was right here all along
my scroogieness abated
my humbugs all long gone

I think I found my christmas
and Im glad its finally here
Im glad I didn't miss it
and curse myself all year

it seems Ive found my christmas
not sure why it took so long
Im just glad I found my christmas
before it was all gone

Just me

Since I last saw your face, two years have now passed
Seems I’ve learned to grieve and move on at long last

What once was so close seems a lifetime ago
And how I begged you to stay, but the powers say no

So off on your way to greater things than I see
What was once you and I has become now, just me.

-----

Forgiving ones self is a hard thing to do
Yet is a path that must be followed now
In the box
Or in the sun
The choices set before me as clear as a springtime sky

Life beckons me on to join in its revelry
I trudge forward into its waiting arms
And in its gentle caress, learn to walk again
Sorrow gives way to memory
Death makes way for new life
This is how things are meant to be

To accept this, a bitter pill
To deny it embraces the horror in an unending torment
To languish in the darkness holding fast to what once was
Or to see clouds flying and realize that all is, indeed, not lost

I choose life and pray it still chooses me

Ame ni mo makezu
(Be Not Defeated by the Wind)

Be not defeated by the rain, Nor let the wind prove your better.
Succumb not to the snows of winter. Nor be bested by the heat of summer.

Be strong in body. Unfettered by desire. Not enticed to anger. Cultivate a quiet joy.
Count yourself last in everything. Put others before you.
Watch well and listen closely. Hold the learned lessons dear.

A thatch-roof house, in a meadow, nestled in a pine grove's shade.

A handful of rice, some miso, and a few vegetables to suffice for the day.

If, to the East, a child lies sick: Go forth and nurse him to health.
If, to the West, an old lady stands exhausted: Go forth, and relieve her of burden.
If, to the South, a man lies dying: Go forth with words of courage to dispel his fear.
If, to the North, an argument or fight ensues:
Go forth and beg them stop such a waste of effort and of spirit.

In times of drought, shed tears of sympathy.
In summers cold, walk in concern and empathy.

Stand aloof of the unknowing masses:
Better dismissed as useless than flattered as a "Great Man".

This is my goal, the person I strive to become.

Love that. For a moment I thought you wrote it and I was very impressed indeed! :D
