Okay, where TF does that fit in to Comic Con??

Last year I remember a dude walking up in drag...I thought 'How do I esplain' this to my son??' I took the chickens way out. He didn't ask, I didn't tell.

Or the big dude in the diaper...the hot chicks, well, that goes without saying.

Right guys?

Not enough hot mf's, though. {when you count how many chicks there are}

Too late to edit earlier post:

I talked with the Hubby and he said, yes, the CC did start out at the El Cortez. But, why don't them mention the concourse? :(

*sigh*

Are you referring to the pic CM posted (of the Howard Stern look-alike)? I think he did that to rile me. It looks like the pic was actually taken at City Walk at Universal, but that is just a guess.

And my post was retaliation to CM - you weren't supposed to look at it ;)

MouseWife 07-24-2007 11:27 PM

Yep, post #49. Oh, yeah, I remember Howard Stern did that.
Geesh, didn't that guy worry about hairlines or anything??? tsk...women have it so hard, I tell ya.

LOL Oh, I saw your picture, Kevy Baby. ;)

oh I saw her. she spent the whole day painfully close to a 'wardrobe malfunction'

I thought one of the younger nerds was going to pass out when he ran headlong into her coming around a corner. you couldnt have painted his face redder than he got.

With all of those people, I was surprised as heck when I said 'We need to find the boy....' and I turn and there he is.

It happened again later, I said 'It is about time we find out what the {older} Boy is going to do...' and I saw him walking towards me.

Freaky.

Capt Jack, did you get a chance to meet my two boys? I know you've met my Jeni and her hubby.

That place was so crowded. Oh man.

Aw darn it, someone told us how long the CC is contracted for. I forgot!

Are you guys at work today, those of you who spent the whole time there?

Ponine 07-30-2007 04:44 PM

Here's the link to our local papers coverage of the convention.
Comic-Con 2007 Coverage

The news articles are down on the left.
Todays article says, and I quote...

Quote:

Last month, when anonymous sources insisted the show was on its way to Denver, Comic-Con's Glanzer denied the rumors. In fact, he noted, the contract between Comic-Con and the San Diego Convention Center had been extended through 2012.

And yes... at least myself and two others from my department are at work today.
We spent our lunch sleeping.

And might I add.... stolen tidbits from other articles....
volunteer.... why? when you want to know who runs this show, it is volunteers.......

In recent years, though, when the IRS has looked at a charity, it has been most concerned about a handful of other issues, including excessive compensation for executives, he said.

That does not appear to be a problem for Comic-Con. It has two full-time executives, each paid less than $70,000 annually, according to the 2004-05 tax return. There are also 13 part-time board officers and directors. Six of the officers receive compensation ranging from $4,320 per year to $18,000.
Add in maybe a dozen paid year round clerical staff, thats it folks.

Funniest thing I read all day... sorry I missed this last week

yeah, Im here. I punked and only attended thurs and friday. I chickened out after experiencing last years 'saturday' attendence, but have since heard it wasnt as bad in the main vendor area as was expected. sort of wish I had indeed gone saturday now.

sadly no MW, I didnt get to meet the youngsters, although chances are good I bumped into them at one time or another.

I..as usual, had a fantastic time. I laughed, I cried (mostly cuz my feet hurt), I drank enough caffine to keep a platoon awake for a week, walked enough to make me an inch shorter from wearing my feet out...and got enough shirts to keep me dressed and fashionable for another year.

cant wait till next year!
